Pedro Almeida (aka aCUR, aka paL), graphic designer, musician, sound addicted and performer, chose the computer as the main instrument after using the guitar, percussion and basically anything that produces sound. Used the sampling concept since then and has been exploring the voice to its limits as a sound tool.

1963: Born in Maputo, Mozambique
1979: first chords in guitar
1986-89: studied graphic design at FBAUP University, Porto, Portugal
since 1989: graphic designer at PÚBLICO newspaper (sub-editor of the graphic department in Porto since 1997)
1992: co-founder of the multimedia project “mute life dept.” (MLd) with Pedro Tudela, Alex Fernandes and Nuno Tudela
2000: co-founder and element of “@c” untill the end of 2003.
2004: founder of the multimedia project “aCUR” based on performance, vocal improvised sounds and facial expressions
2005: founder of “Variable Guitars”, an experimental non-fixed improvised guitar project.

He lives and works in Porto, Portugal.
